DJ Doug Hulgan, Destin, FL
Beach Music Productions originated in 1990 as the brainchild of Douglas Hulgan. After being in business all of his life, Mr. Hulgan moved to Destin, Florida, to enjoy the fun and relaxation living this area was noted for. Doug got his start in the music business In college, booking bands to pay for his education. He worked with The Bill Lowery Talent Agency of Atlanta, Georgia, before taking a job with The Swingin’ Medallions from Greenwood, South Carolina as road crew and sound technician. He worked with various groups that included: The Tams, The Drifters, The Platters and The Fabulous Expressions.
Doug was also owner/operator of the Platters Night Club in Decatur, Alabama, for three years. Currently he lives and works in what he describes as paradise, involved in his first love, music! Since Beach Music Productions originated, it has steadily grown in volume and now accommodates several hundred weddings, reunions, private parties, company and corporate events annually.
In 2003, the former lead singer with The Swingin’ Medallions and The Fabulous Expressions, Pete Dyess, joined Doug’s staff, allowing Beach Music Productions to expand their service area to the Panama City and Panama City Beach area as well as maintain services in the Destin area. Pete is also a playing member of the local musical duo, Two Of A Kind.
